Meet the team

From ensuring linguists are fully briefed about your job requests, to quickly and efficiently resolving any queries you may have; these are the people that make things happen at DA Languages.

Without our hardworking, knowledgeable and enthusiastic team, DA Languages would be, well…just another languages services agency.

Actar Arya

Actar is the Director of DA Languages and is extremely passionate about the language industry. In fact she had worked as a freelance interpreter prior to starting up DA Languages in 1998.

Through running DPSI training and examination centres, Actar has helped linguists be fully prepared for the variety of work the industry demands.

Actar is very proud that DA Languages are now established as one of the most trusted and reliable providers of languages services to the Public Sector. And she puts this down to excellent customer service and delivering services on time and to budget.

On the rare occasions when she gets some spare time, Actar likes to relax by cooking, reading and painting.

Sal Arya

Company Secretary & Compliance Officer

With a degree in law and background in finance & property management; Sal brings a variety of skills to the DA Languages team.

His charisma and enthusiasm helps keep the office environment buzzing and positive. Mainly dealing with compliance issues – Sal also has input into business strategy, investment and development.

Outside of work Sal has a passion for history and is also fanatical about sport and fitness. He plays tennis, attends the gym and likes taking his dog (Dexter) for walks in the park.

Asim Aziz

Business Development Manager

Having worked in the languages services industry for over 5 years, Asim has excellent understanding and knowledge of the industry as well as a passion for open and clear communication which ensures client relationships are fruitful for all parties.

Asim is involved in all aspects of new business development for the company in addition to managing key accounts and client retention.

Working with languages has also rubbed off on Asim; he speaks Urdu, Punjabi and basic Arabic. He also quite fancies learning Japanese.

When not working or spending time with the family, Asim likes to relax by playing guitar, listening to jazz, practicing Aikido and also attending the gym as often as he can.

Debbie Pye

Office Manager

Debbie is DA Languages longest serving member of staff – having been with the company for over nine years. In this time she has seen the company grow in size at a fast rate.

Having previously worked as an administrator for a busy solicitors firm, she joined DA Languages as a booking co-ordinator and soon showed how super organisational and proactive she can be. Debbie has helped develop the company into the vibrant, busy workplace we know and love today.

As well as keeping the office functioning; this self-confessed queen of multi-tasking provides support for staff, encourages team spirit and keeps office motivation high.

Outside of work Debbie owns horses and has recently started riding competitively again. She also adores her dog (Molly) and loves a brisk walk in the Cheshire countryside.

Chris Flanagan

Accounts Department

Having previously worked in similar roles within the financial, leisure and housing services, Chris has built up over 15 years of accounting experience.

Chris’ main remit is to manage the financial day to day accountancy of the office and ensure invoices are sent out and paid on time.

Within weeks of joining the company; Chris had implemented new processes to increase efficiency within the accounts department and has worked diligently to ensure quality.

Outside of work, Chris is a keen sportsman; he enjoys surfing and keeps himself fit by going to the gym. However, his main passion is travel and he has many stamps in his passport, including places as exotic as New Zealand, Hong Kong, South Africa as well as the USA.

Adeel Mansoor

Booking Coordinator Team Leader

Adeel manages the busy booking co-ordination team here at DA: he ensures that client’s requirements are met every day. Adeel is meticulous in delivering a first rate service where jobs requests are completed on time and to the best standard possible.

Adeel brings great energy and enthusiasm to his role. He likes to keep a positive work environment and is never one to turn down a challenge. A great team player, Adeel will always get the best from his team.

When not in the office, he plays Sunday league football, loves to travel and has a passionate interest in music production and recording.

Ruth Entwistle

Administration Team Leader

Ruth is DA Languages’ resident trouble shooter; she ensures all job bookings run smoothly and communication flows efficiently between all parties involved in our projects.

Previously, Ruth has worked as an administrator for various airlines at Manchester Airport and this busy and demanding work style means she is well suited to the fast paced environment of the DA Languages office.

Ruth’s hard work and positive attitude earned her promotion to Team Leader and she successfully manages the administration team, and acts as the bridge between our clients, staff and linguists.

Outside of work Ruth is an advocate of Zumba, loves running and enjoys spending her time with her friends and family.

Lauren Tew

Client Account Manager

Lauren has been working as our Client Account Manager for almost an entire year and has made an undeniable impact in her role. She expertly liaises with clients from all around the country and ensures peace of mind to old and new clients alike. Lauren has also implemented many new practices that we certainly couldn’t do without in our day-to-day office lives!

Her experience of holding a variety of roles during her time at DA has granted her superior knowledge of the company that enables her to deal with any query a client might have. In this way, she is able to consistently maintain clear, transparent relationships that ultimately streamline processes and cut costs for all parties.

Lauren, like Ruth, is also an advocate of Zumba; she loves nothing more than to dance. She’s also a great supporter of charity, and you’ll often find her spearheading new fundraising ventures in and around the office.

Federica Madella

Recruitment Manager

Federica has always been passionate about language and cultures. Having lived, worked and studied abroad, her quality experiences in B2B communications and customer care made her the ideal candidate to take over as Manager of our Recruitment department.

With both BA and MA Degrees in Languages and International Communication, Federica uses her expert knowledge to ensure a client’s expectations are always met.  Working with her committed team, Recruitment work diligently to carefully screen and then select only the best-qualified candidates for each job.

Federica loves the multicultural aspects of her role and makes the most of getting to know our diverse staff, where she’s often trying to learn new words from other languages. During her free time, she enjoys Bikram Yoga which she says gives her “the energy boost to deal with a new, intense workday”. She also loves travelling and cooking hearty (and authentic) Italian meals for her friends and family.

Rhys Pattimore

Marketing Manager

After completing his MA in English Literature, Rhys began life at DA Languages as one of our booking co-ordinators, but now he heads up our Marketing Department. It was his passion for writing and communication, as well as his experiences within the company that set him up for the role. He works closely with our Business Development Team to build on and establish DA’s marketing strategies and works on improving resources and training for our staff and linguists.

You can see his weekly blog posts appearing right here on the site and our live news updates posted to social media too. You might also find him tinkering with the office computers when someone’s in a technical pinch!

When not in the office, you’ll likely find Rhys at the cinema, engaged in a new book, gaming, or cooking up a storm in the kitchen.
