About the Role

Salary: £45k – £55k per annum

Purpose of the role

Due to recent expansion and intended growth plans, DA Languages is looking to add an experienced Technology Manager to the team. We are looking for someone ready for the next step in their career and offer a clear progression to director level. This is a great opportunity to influence the direction and strategy of a very fast-growing business.

  • You will drive new implementations, and any new product or service launched.
  • You will be responsible for bringing efficiency to the business, enhancing our growth capabilities, professionalising technology and reducing risk.
  • You will develop, articulate, and continually evolve the company’s strategic technical direction and drive profitable business growth using multi-channel technical solutions, while making sure that all technical solutions are built with security and regulatory requirements in mind.
  • This will be a Senior Leadership role and you will be reporting directly to the Managing Director

Key Responsibilities

  1. To ensure smooth continuity of Technology services, covering all hardware, software and telephony (zero downtime, to make sure Sales/Ops/Finance are free to deliver their primary purpose)
  2. To manage all Technology suppliers to the business, covering; the relationship, value and cost for all hardware, Software, Network, Telephony,
  3. Including the Interpreting software development lifecycle for DA Link
  4. To study and evaluate the technology involved in Translation services, provide strategy, insight and recommendations to the business on which Technology delivers best profitable overall growth return, and complete procurement
  5. To evaluate and plan (and test) proportionately for relevant DR and BCP events
  6. To understand requirement of internal customers (Operational, Sales and Finance functions), continuously improving the service provided to them
  7. To lead the Technology development in a way that encourages clients and linguists to own their administrative tasks and makes the client experience seamless (Amazon has sticky customers)
  8. To contribute to the successful revenue wins, being client facing on all Technology matters and supporting new bids, whilst also ensuring compliance to company standards, policies, and relevant legislation
  9. To complete specific projects that improve the system architecture, resilience, scalability and information security (starting with items from DD complete/non complete and improving on 100-day plan) within scope and in budget/timescale.
  10. Work within a software development lifecycle, performing business analysis on software features and functionality

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience
  • To be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of how Technology drives the business
  • To have the personal skills to manage external suppliers
  • A professional manner and strong communication skills
  • A relevant degree is desirable, and most graduates entering this field will need a first degree or postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject area.
