Role summary

A fantastic opportunity to help build the future of the video language interpretation platform; you will be working closely with our current development team and our customers to drive the development of the new video interpreting product – InterpreterView.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: Up to £45,000 per year

About the role

You will be responsible for owning the development of the applications which facilitate the creation & management of video conferencing rooms and billing and working closely with our customers to gather requirements and feedback and feed that back into our iterative development cycle.

Responsibilities

How will you do this?

  • Become an integral member of the team building the backend services and core applications which will be the basis of the new products coming out of Miton, including the new Video Remote Interpreting platform – InterpreterView
  • Manage the backlog and sprint planning alongside other software engineers, senior leadership, and key customer stakeholders
  • Be an advocate for test driven development (TDD) and continuous integration/deployment
  • Collaborate with customer and business stakeholders at a technical level
  • You should be enthusiastic, self-motivated, and take complete ownership of the life-cycle of features – concept, development, testing, deployment, and support

Skills/Knowledge/Behaviours

  • Proven experience in either front end or back end development, with a desire to progress to full stack development
  • Solid understanding of MySQL and ability to understand and write complex queries
  • Experience with utilising SCM & CI/CD tools such as Git, Github Actions, Gitlab Pipelines
  • Experience with Unit and Acceptance Testing frameworks
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools
  • Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with Python and Docker is a desirable
  • Experience with plain JavaScript / Vue / Angular is desirable
  • Experience with Mobile App Development is desirable
  • Experience with the Language Services industry advantageous
  • Experience with AWS/Azure is desirable
