Software Test Engineer

Role summary

A great opportunity for an individual to influence and work with a new software testing team. The team will be responsible for ensuring the quality of interpreting, translation, transcription, bookings and reporting web/mobile based applications. This will involve manual testing to get started and then quickly move into providing automation.

As a test engineer role, the individual will be expected to work with the test team to establish best practices and mentor junior testers. This will also involve establishing new test processes and procedures, write test cases, and help drive the test strategy.

We are looking for someone who is a very good communicator and a team player. You must be not afraid to take ownership and be flexible enough to cope with a high demand fast moving environment. You will work closely with developers both local and remote, plus customer support teams, service desk teams and all major stakeholders to understand test requirements and risks.

The successful candidate will perform integration and regressions testing and help with UAT testing.

Qualities needed as a Software Test Engineer:

  • QA Test Engineer
  • ISTQB Agile Tester Certification or equivalent
  • Testing experience, preferably in telecoms but not mandatory
  • Good communicator
  • Team Player
  • Some development coding/scripting knowledge
  • Drive and determination to achieve
  • Willing to take responsibility
  • Quick learner
  • Flexible
