We are looking for an Application Support Engineer to join an enthusiastic and growing team supporting a new and exciting suite of products.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent  Salary: Up to £21,000 per year

About the role

Reporting into the Head of Software Engineering, you will be positive and customer satisfaction driven in the provisioning of help desk services. In addition to performing first-line support across our Interpreting platform, you will help to measure quality, develop our self-service support implementation, and write documentation.

This is a fantastic opportunity to start your IT career, as you might also be involved in ad-hoc project work, problem management, the investigation & root cause analysis of underlying system issues, third party supplier management, helping with fixes, and testing where necessary.

Requirements & Required Skills

  • Provide 1st line support to customers using our suite of applications on web and mobile. Respond to customer enquiries, defects, and change requests. Administer, solve, and log cases via an internal case management platform
  • Escalate issues that cannot be resolved with the development team
  • Collaborate with the development team by helping with fixes and testing
  • Responding to and keeping internal support cases up to date with progress
  • Learning how to support new technologies and solutions as they are developed
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage with people possessing various degrees of technical understanding
  • Ability to manage time and prioritise work effectively
  • Strong IT skills
  • Previous Tier 1 customer support experience is a bonus
  • Experience with Jira/Confluence (Atlassian suite) is a bonus
  • Experience with software development processes is a bonus
  • Knowledge of web-based software applications, scripting languages, and SQL database language would be advantageous, but not essential
