DA Languages biggest contract award to date!
As our rapid rate of expansion continues, DA Languages are proud to announce the acquisition of our biggest contract to date!
We will be the primary language services provider for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. We will be the primary provider for face to face spoken languages and one of the preferred suppliers for non spoken languages (i.e. British Sign Language, Deaf Relay, International Sign Language, Lip Speaking, Note Taking, Speech to text).
Our staff count has grown by 300% in just 4 years and this is set to increase further with this announcement.
Freelance interpreters needed in Glasgow!
We will begin providing services from the April 1st. Whilst we already have a strong base of linguists, we are beginning a large recruitment drive for interpreters in the Glasgow area. If you are based in this area, we want to hear from you!
We’re looking for applicants who possess the confidence to use their linguistic skills to accurately interpret from one language to another. Applicants should be fluent in the language(s) they want to interpret in (i.e. native level) and, ideally, have prior experience in a similar role.
Interpreting Languages Needed:
Albanian, Amharic, Arabic, Azeri, Bengali, Bulgarian, Burmese, Cantonese, Czech, Dari, Edo, Farsi, French, Greek, Hakka, Herero, Hindi, Hungarian, Igbo, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Kurdish, Latvian, Lingala, Lithuanian, Luganda, Malay, Mandarin, Mirpuri, Nepalese, Oromo, Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Pasht, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Somali, Spanish, Swahili, Tamil, Thai, and Tigrinya and Vietnamese – if you speak any other language, we still want to hear from you!
About us and the role
DA Languages works with Public and Private Sector clients all across the UK. We’re currently recruiting in and around the Glasgow area and are eager to work with new freelance interpreters who can help us to meet the needs of our clients, new and old.
Interpreters will work in a variety of medical environments including mental health, meetings, and various other medical related appointments. The role will involve assisting clients with language difficulties.
The role is ultimately about assisting clients who work with limited English speakers and ensuring that communication is effective and accurate.
This is a highly rewarding job role that will challenge your temperament, your ability to think on your feet, and your linguistic skills.
Formal qualifications and experience are preferred, although you may still apply if the following qualifications do not apply to you.
- Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI)
- Community Interpreting
- National Registered (NRPSI)
- Chartered Institute of Linguists Qualifications (CIOL)
- Certificate in Bilingual Skills (CBS)
- BA in Translation/Interpreting
- BA in Languages
- DA Languages accepts the following BSL qualifications: (Level 6 in BSL registered with: SASLI/NRCPD/ASLI)
